The Story

More than just great fishing, I want you to enjoy your entire day. So, I work to understand the type of experience you want (you might want a short drive, or maybe you only like fishing pocket water, etc.) and, with that information, we work together to create a plan.

I enjoy sharing the knowledge and experience I have from years on the water. If you're a new angler, there's no shortage of things to learn—from entomology to rigging. If you're more experienced, we can sharpen or add to your existing skill set. If you want to learn, I want to teach you.

Ultimately, I add value to your day in ways that extend beyond our time together.

Lodging

Lodging is available near all the waters I guide. Once you determine what trip is best for you, I can offer you options for accommodations.

Your Time With Me

  • Introductory phone call to understand the experience you want.
  • Trip details are covered and confirmed. A deposit secures your date.
  • Begin walk and wade or float at agreed time and place.
  • Lunch break (for full day), includes sandwich, snacks, and drinks. Resume fishing.
  • Approximately 4 hours for half day and 8 hours for a full day.
  • Share photos and regale friends with fish stories over dinner (optional).

Region

I guide in the foothills of Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen, on beautiful rivers with native, wild, rainbow trout and the rare brown trout that keep you guessing. Three of these rivers are home to the ultimate, bad attitude survivor, steelhead. Beyond these chrome bullets, we're graced with bald eagles, golden eagles, bears, bobcat, and plentiful waterfowl.

What should I wear?

I'll help you choose the best clothing based on location, expected conditions, and time of year.


What tackle is provided?

All tackle and gear are provided.


Where should I stay?

I can help you find accommodations based on your trip location and personal details.


What is a steelhead report card?

A steelhead report card is similar to a permit. Where required, we cannot fish without it.


Can I have my license on my phone?

Yes. California now allows you to have your license on your phone.


Can I keep fish?

I practice catch-and-release for all wild fish.
